Thank you so much for sharing your experience and insights. The categorization in mental health is indeed extremely concerning. If there's anything we can learn, it's that things have improved, but there is still much work to be done. For instance, we went from labeling various mental health issues—like anxiety, depression, or personality disorders—as hysteria, to now employing more holistic approaches. One of my aspirations is to contribute to a more inclusive approach to mental health categorization.

Regarding sexual identity, I also believe there is a balanced approach that needs to be explored. There are many dynamics at play when it comes to preferences. I agree that sometimes these dynamics could potentially be used to justify certain toxic behavioral patterns. Some authors and psychologists argue that an overemphasis on sexual categorization might reflect a pathological tendency. However, on the other end, assuming everything is binary seems overly simplistic.

As we advance in our understanding of the mind, especially through neuroscience, which now studies functional anatomy and connectivity, I believe we will gain a deeper insight into these preferences and behaviors. The complexity of our identities and experiences demands a more nuanced understanding.

Your reflections on mental health resonated with me deeply because I, too, have gone through a journey with various mental health diagnoses from different psychiatrists and psychologists, none of which were ever entirely conclusive. This highlights the need for a revolution in psychiatry—one that encompasses all human needs and can truly represent the intricate nature of the mind.

Thank you again for your thought-provoking comment. This journey may still have a long way to go, but with continued effort, we can work toward a mental health paradigm that genuinely reflects human complexity.
