Worth the fight

Paisaje de invierno — Caspar David Friedrich

I wake to the murmur of radio waves,
Daylight weaving through the news of our ways.
A tale of creatures in silent throes,
Echoes of pain, the harm we impose.

Amidst my stroll, city sounds betray
Talk of young lives spirited away.
A network of shadows under urban lights,
Hidden wars, stolen dreams in plight.

Empathy sings of our kindred thread,
Yet actions fall short, our impact shed
In whispers against the roar of great fires,
Emissions rising, the many tire.

Together, our minds could mold the just,
Yet stumble we do over greed and dust.
Flickering futures in winds of strife,
Candles fighting the dark of life.

Peace – a fragile veneer, thinly worn,
Shivers at the specter of conflicts born.
Yet hope clings tight in the looming gloom,
In ruins’ shadow, we dare to assume.

Caught between the calm and cries for change,
Mindfulness pulls, activism estranges.
The still voice within, a tranquil guide,
To live, to feel, in the storm reside.

Yet the world clamors loud and wild,
Demands we march, for the man, the child.
Not merely to be, but to rewrite the scene,
Crafting from chaos a dream serene.

This dance of balance, soft and fierce,
Where quiet hearts and protests pierce.
Mindfulness grounds, activism ignites,
Together weaving the dark and light.

As days march on, despair and zeal
Might sway the spirit, challenge the real.
Yet stand we strong against the call to rest,
In the act of defiance, we find our quest.

The horizon calls, vast and unknown,
Beckoning hearts to make it their own.
Let doubt not dim what could be ours,
In our hands lie the future’s powers.

For what do we hold, through darkest nights?
As Sam once said by Frodo’s side,
There’s good in this world, worth the fight.”
In this truth, our souls take flight.
